Slime Care

Prep:
Always wash your hands before playing with slime, this will help keep your slime in good condition. Start by dissolving your activator (borax) with warm water in the spray bottle. Prepare your slime space by wiping down a flat open surface and lightly spraying with activator. Spraying activator on your hands will help keep slime from sticking to them.

Use the 1 finger trick to see if your slime is ready to play, simply use 1 finger to touch test the surface of your slime; if the slime sticks, you may need more activator. When playing with slime it's best to touch it in quick motions, like its hot.
Play:
Store:
Store your slime in an air tight container at room temperature. Stored slime can deactivate, when you're ready to take it back out just reactivate with included activator. Over time handmade slime will shrink and harden,
this is inevitable due to exposure to the air, but playing for 20 minutes at a time and resealing your slime
lengthen its lifespan.

More Tips:
Activator -
Never add borax powder directly to slime, always dilute with warm water.
Clear Slime -
After a few minutes of play clear slime will start to look white because of air bubbles trapped in the slime. Letting the slime sit for several days will clear it back up again. Clear slime also tends to get cloudy from the debris and oils on your hands. Clear slime is the tackiest of slimes and tends to need more activator than white slimes.
Inflated Slime -
When inflated slime might not fit back in its container, it's good to have extra containers ready to store the overflow.
Weather -
Slime is influenced by the weather. When it's hot slime may deactivate or melt. A few minutes in the refrigerator can bring it back, and sometimes more activator will be necessary. Cold slime can feel hard, slime should warm up in your hands or it can be left for a few minutes in front of a warm air vent.
Textures -
Different textures behave differently, some are better than others for new slime users. Check out our blog for a list of texture types with their descriptions as well as other useful tips and tricks for playing with slime.
